Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM)

The University of Queensland’s BVSc degree is a very challenging five-year program. You will develop a broad understanding of the science behind veterinary practice. The entry is the same for all applicants whether you have only completed high school studies or an undergraduate degree. University of Queensland Veterinary School was established in 1936 and has educated over 3,000 veterinarians ever since. UQSVS first taught 7 students on the original site at Yeerongpilly and the students completed their 4th and 5th years at Sydney University until 1951. The school moved to the main site in St. Lucia Campus in 1961. The large and diverse group of academic and clinical staff in the School has established an outstanding record of teaching and research to benefit farm and companion animals, their owners and industry sectors. Major contributions have been in tropical/sub-tropical animal health and medicine.
